Finding Nemo, directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Lee Unkrich is a simple emotional story of a father and son blended with a lot of funny twists which keep you rolling with laughter and a few sentimental turns that strike a chord with viewers' emotions.
The storyline of the movie revolves around Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks), a paranoid clown fish who is trying to look for his son Nemo (voice of Alexander Gould). Nemo is separated on the first day of his school and Marlin like a devoted father decides to rescue his son. The movie proceeds in two parallel story lines; one in a dentist’s fish tank where Nemo ends up after being captured by sea divers; and the second with Marlin and some one he meets while on the mission, a friendly but absent-minded Regal Blue Tang named Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres). Some of the scenes between Marlin and Dory are the main highlights of the movie.
Finding Nemo would be an extremely dull and a boring movie if it wouldn’t have been complimented with a fabulous ensemble of characters besides the father-son. They truly are the bridge which enables a simple story line like this to cross the way and become extra-ordinary. A Great White Shark named Bruce (voice of Barry Humphries); a beach-rat Sea Tortoise named Crush (voice of Andrew Stanton) is characters who Marlin comes across. On the other hand Nemo meets a Moorish Idol named Gill (Willem Dafoe) who is the leader of the fish tank Nemo is in, and a friendly Brown Pelican named Nigel (Geoffrey Rush) whose interaction with other fish in the tank would surely leave everybody in splits. Also, scenes dedicated to a lock of hungry seagulls in the harbor are hysterical.
Finding Nemo is an animated movie which would be loved by all because finally it’s about a journey every child goes through living with his/her parents and more importantly a journey which every parent goes through while raising his/her child. I suggest you watch it soon if you haven’t seen it already and if you've seen it in the past, I’m sure you wouldn’t mind watching this again at least once.
