Book 03: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

If you like reading chances are that you've heard of this book titled 'The Kite Runner' which is written by an exemplary author called 'Khaled Hosseini'. The Kite Runner, Hosseini's debut novel was first published in 2003 and is an extremely popular book which has now also been adopted in a movie of the same name. The movie released in 2007. The Kite Runner is primarily the story of a character called Amir and all the people that are close to him like his father, his love interest Soraya (who is introduced almost in the latter half of the book), and a kid called Sohrab who is introduced in the last few chapters an important character of story and Amir's life. But most importantly this book is about undying friendship between two characters (Amir and Hassan) that are brought together by destiny. The book talks about their bond, their rapport as friends who come across as brothers in spite of all their social differences, as a team of a skillful kite flier and an unbeatable kite runner. Without giving away any detail from the story line, the book progresses to a hideous turn of events which leads to disturbing repercussions. Since the story is set in Afghanistan, the war and the degeneration of the country and forceful circumstances result in Amir and his baba leave the country and get settled in the United States. And the way destiny plays its role on Amir's life which leads him back to Afghanistan on a journey that would change his life forever.

The story of this fiction novel is so extreme that I doubt if even a faction of the readers who've read this book identify with the situations which the characters of the book go through in their life. This is where the authors prowess comes to the fore, it's the way Khaled crafts a world in his creation and words; that you're hypnotized to such an extent that you just don't relate to the characters, but also their difficulties and misfortunes as if they were your own. The Kite Runner is a fruitful recommendation which would surely be loved by readers from all walks of life, because in the end it is a story about sentiments, which are constant and acts like a fiber in unifying all human beings despite all sets and reasons of differences.
